This was my first Nika Michelle book but definitely not my last. Ironically I just finished reading another book with characters named Brielle and Sergio so these characters already felt familiar to me.What I loved about this book was the fact that it's a standalone. In this era of EVERYONE making EVERYTHING a series this was a breath of fresh air. Sacha, the daughter of a Pimp, decides to leave her troubled past and chooses the safe route: college, a 9 to 5, and she married her High School Sweetheart Kamal. When her marriage with Kamal ended thanks to her best friend, desperate times called for desperate measures when her life of luxury was no longer funded by her Husband. She sought counsel from her Father and decided to trade in her corporate pumps for some Blue Gator Skin pumps and try her hand at Pimping. Along the way she forms some unexpected friends and some deadly enemies....not too many people appreciated her million dollar business, especially a Pimp who had his bottom bitch stolen by Sacha. This book may seem predictable initially but she ends up giving you lots of surprise twists and turns but most importantly it wraps up perfectly with NO lingering questions and no sequel. This was a great read. I couldn't believe some of this drama. Kamal was triffling and so is Jordan! I couldn't believe those two. I felt so bad for Sasha. She seemed to not be able to catch a break. One thing after another happened in her life. She ended up having to make some big decisions for her life. Thing worked out for the best in the end. This was definitely a great read. Nika did her thing!
Never disappionted in your books
This story was fast paced and well written . Sasha was a strong young woman that was hurt, but never broken . Serg was a dream come true. I enjoyed reading this, and would recommend this story to anyone who loves urban fiction.
Let's just say that this story will have you wanting more. Although it started out slow with the Teenage love thing. It quickly took you for a ride. Nika you've done it again with your gift of story telling. There were times i had to re read certain parts because of the wondering, but other then that it was great.
I really enjoyed the book and how the direction of the storyline kept me intrigued. I’m definitely team Sasha and Serg! Once again no disappointments when it comes to Nika Michelle! You did that ma! Great Standalone!
Pretty good book to read. There were several typos but otherwise it was good. I didn't think Kamal was shady but I guess he really was. I hope everything works out for Sasha because she only did what she did in self defense...it's gotta be hard living on the run...
The fact that this book was a stand alone was the biggest plus for me. I love Nika as a writer. The story, however started off slow so I kind of skimmed through a few pages. It quickly picked up though and it was great! Although it was a stand alone there were still some unanswered questions. For instance are we supposed to just believe Serg or is it possible that Kamal was telling the truth? Also, what became of Sasha's girls. Considering the title of the book you would think it would be more about her 'pimping'. Overall it was a good book and I would definitely recommend. Nika can we have some more stand alone books???
